Yes, I am not there to replace a partner . My job is to educate, and emotionally and physically support partners to empower them to be active and confident as well as be helpful in the recovery process.

It's best to meet before the baby is born to understand requirements and then help them transition to home life within the first two weeks. But a doula can always be hired later on if the family feels they need the extra help. It can really depend on what support they already have in place.

Yes, there is a minimum of 3 hours a shift.

Yes, of course. For example if the mum wants to sleep, I can help with the other children during my shift.

I offer basic support and will make referrals to lactation consultants if required.

I am passionate about making postpartum care available to anyone, regardless of circumstance. It is important to me to be sensitive to people's needs.
